One client’s passion to help his friends quit smoking, chewing tobacco, and vaping created something truly remarkable.
Tim Ogle of Jump River, WI quit smoking with Breathe on Feb. 17, 2026.
About three months later, Cathy from Breathe called Tim to check up on his success. Tim told her how amazed he was at how quickly and easily he was finally able to quit smoking with the Breathe – Freedom from Nicotine program. He asked if Breathe could send a team to provide our program to many of his friends in Jump River, who were also amazed at how easy it was for him to quit. Jump River is a 3-hour drive to the Twin Cities. Cathy said, “Sure. As long as you have at least 10 friends or co-workers who want to quit with Breathe, we’ll come there.”
Within just a few short weeks, he helped bring together a group program in Jump River, Wisconsin, with 14 people committed to becoming nicotine-free.
This is a powerful reminder that quitting nicotine is not just an individual journey, it is often a community effort. When friends encourage one another and work toward the same goal, success becomes much more attainable.
The power of surrounding yourself with people who do not use nicotine is incredible. The more time you spend around friends, family members, and coworkers who are living nicotine-free, the easier it becomes to stay quit. Positive influences help reduce triggers, provide encouragement during difficult moments, and create an environment where healthy choices become the norm.
The success of this group in Jump River shows what can happen when one person takes the initiative to help others. Together, they are proving that support, accountability, and friendship can make all the difference on the journey to a nicotine-free life.
